You’ll also be supporting our operations, helping us to overcome a range of challenges and ensuring we continue to protect the safety and security of the UK.Corporate roles
Administration is a multi-facetted area where a broad understanding in various disciplines and the ability to multi-task is an advantage. Roles could include staff and customer management, staff training, recruitment, organising travel, visits and conferences. This work could involve working directly to a senior manager or part of a group supporting a larger team.
Our finance teams work to a fixed monthly reporting cycle and we look for self-motivated people with varying levels of financial experience, a methodical approach and the character to work with and challenge management information. From reporting expenditure against budget and preparing forecasts to supporting our finance systems, we have a variety of roles. We also look for people who combine leadership experience with the analytical ability to tackle complex problems. We offer finance roles in a number of areas:
Our Finance Business Support teams cover three finance related areas. Whichever area you join, you’ll play a full role in ensuring we have the resources we need. This will involve providing management information, supporting meetings, looking after small budgets and dealing with customers within the business. You’ll also be inputting data into the financial system, running month end processes, supporting analysis and raising invoices.
With an aptitude for IT and good customer service skills, you’ll be the first line of technical support for the Corporate Business Systems Product Centre (CBS). This will include providing specialist support for all of our finance and resource applications and using relevant tools and processes to deal with CBS IT incidents and manage changes.
Ideally you’ll have good IT, finance or HR skills, together with good communication and analysis skills. With a commitment to customer service skills, and the ability to deal with people with different backgrounds and needs, you’ll be an important member of our team. If you have previous relevant experience, all the better.
Managing a portfolio of suppliers, you’ll ensure their invoices are processed and paid on time through BACS. You’ll also manage the payment of expenses for a designated group of GCHQ employees. This means you’ll need the ability to maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, as well as managing records relating to invoices and expenses efficiently and effectively.
The nature of our work means that we have to move fast to keep up with the rapid technological changes that are happening around the world. Nothing stands still here, which makes it a uniquely fascinating, challenging and exceptionally rewarding environment where you can develop and hone your legal expertise.
Our Legal Advisers cover a variety and breadth of legal issues that you’re unlikely to find elsewhere. If you’re a qualified UK solicitor or barrister, you could find yourself advising on everything from contract terms and conditions to regulatory and public law issues. And you’ll cover a diverse range of areas, including ICT, commercial litigation, arbitration and ADR, construction and property and IP exploration and collaboration.
Alongside your legal qualifications and experience, you’ll ideally have a record of leading major projects, advising external advisers and negotiating and drafting significant contracts. Show us you combine exceptional legal judgement with strong analytical skills and you’ll play your part in helping us to protect the security of the UK.
If you’re an experienced PA, or you have the presence and organisational skills to support senior managers, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the security of the UK.
With your excellent organisational skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships across the organisation, you’ll provide dedicated administrative support. This will involve maximising the use of time for senior managers and their teams by managing diaries and emails, answering phone calls, arranging meetings, taking minutes, coordinating visits, arranging hospitality and organising travel plans. Through your efficient record-keeping and administration, you’ll play an important role in our mission.
The ability to gain value for money and cost-effective contracts is essential to our work. Join our Procurement team and you’ll apply your expertise to follow the full procurement lifecycles. From developing a range of innovative, cost-effective solutions to managing our suppliers you will ensure best value for money. Our vision is to be a technology enabled procurement service, built upon trust, confidence and strong relationships in our Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) certified environment.
As well as contributing to the nation’s security, we’re responsible for security at our sites around the UK too. Our on-site Security Officers protect key military and communications equipment on a shift basis.
It’s a highly responsible role so, as well as being fit and active you’ll need to be literate and numerate, with basic IT skills and the ability to communicate with people at all levels. Show us that you have natural authority and the character to work well in a team or on your own initiative and you’ll play an important role in securing one of our sites.
Ideally you’ll have relevant experience, including operating CCTV systems, together with knowledge of First Aid. If not, we’ll give you training in Security Guarding, First Aid, AED, Fire Awareness, and Emergency Response.
